Annenberg Media uses media and telecommunications to advance excellent teaching in American schools. This mandate is carried out chiefly by the funding and broad distribution of educational video programs and other education learning resources with coordinated Web and print materials for the professional development of K-12 teachers. The result is a very useful free education teacher resource.

A report released recently by the U.S. Department of Education, which analyzed 46 studies comparing online learning to face-to-face education, concludes that the former is more effective - at least at university level and in certain aspects.
